Remote Work and the Reimagined Workplace: Why hybrid work will define the future
Amy W. Loomis, Ph.D. , Research Director, Future of Work

The onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic has proven that traditional work models can evolve, that organizations and their employees can embrace change and that they can do so much faster than anyone imagined. It's also shown where we have significant opportunity to drive work transformation: from how we find and onboard, train and engage new workers, to how we offer all workers access to the resources they need to work effectively no matter their location. This presentation will explore IDC's recent research and perspectives on three core areas: Requirements for effective remote work, return to office technologies and empathic leadership for a hybrid future of work.

Amy has been an independent analyst consulting with a range of clients from Fortune 100 organizations to start-ups on digital transformation, learning and employee engagement. She spent 15 years at IBM in various leadership roles across external, internal and corporate communications and marketing. She was co-founder of IBM’s Think Academy, a global digital learning platform and program designed to engage employees and partners in learning about emerging technologies and digital transformation. Her client consulting, working with executive leadership teams, marketing and HR professionals, has focused on the intersection of technological and cultural change. Prior to IBM, Ms. Loomis worked for Rational Software conducting market research and building an analyst engagement practice.
