Sean O’Malley is the Research Director for IDC Financial Insights responsible for the compliance, fraud and risk practice. Mr. O’Malley’s core research coverage includes technology solutions, products and services designed to address the heightened regulatory expectations in compliance, increasing demands in risk management and evolution in fraud detection and prevention for the banking industry.

Sean has over 30 years of experience in Financial Services. He has been Global Head of AML Risk Management at State Street, US Head of Operational Risk Modeling, Data and Methodology at Santander Bank, Director of Compliance Analytics at Citigroup and Executive Director of Operational Risk at Morgan Stanley. He has also spent several years working as a consultant in compliance and risk management at Deloitte & Touche, NetRisk and Integrated Risk. He currently holds the ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) certification.
